Yono, o Mbah Jhiwo (Alma Anciana), es uno de los mineros que cargan a diario grandes rocas de azufre por la ladera del cráter del Kawa Ijen. Una mañana, de forma inesperada, su mujer abandona el hogar familiar alterando una rutina en la que el tiempo parecía suspendido.
